We slept in a bit later this morning and didn't get to breakfast until about 8 am. Didn't really have anywhere we needed to rush off to anyway.
Spent the morning and early afternoon relaxing by the pool. It was a beautiful day. We ended up chatting with another couple from Inver Grove Heights for a while. That was kinda fun.
Around 3 we went to the Tabacon Resort to check out their natural thermal hot springs. It was really quite unbelievable. They have a huge space and it felt a bit like a maze with paths going from pool to pool. The further back we got the hotter the pools were.
We found a few spots that we really liked. One pool had a nice Waterfall coming down where we could lean back into it for a nice back massage. The other spot we had to swim under a bridge and get back there. This was probably the deepest pool we found. It never really got full of other people either. We went back up to this spot after going through all of the other pools and it was just before dusk. While I was off to one side of the pool I looked up behind my head and a giant lizard 🦎 was there. Staring at me with his big yellow eyes and creepy claws. I freaked out a bit and went further over to sit by Bryan. At one point the lizard jumped and fell into a little bit of the water and barely escaped the current coming right toward us. But he made it and then just sat there and hung out for a bit. Meanwhile I saw a rustling down to the side even a bit closer and another lizard appeared. This was a different kind, he looked smaller but I would guess both were about 2 feet long. Their tails seemed to be longer than their bodies. But this second lizard kept getting closer and then he turned and scurried away super fast. We pretty much sat in this hot pool until dark and I know the one lizard was still hanging out there when we left. Kind of creepy but glad he stayed where he was. Of course we had put our electronics into our lockers so we have no pics of our creepy crawly friends.
The Tabacon grounds also had a regular pool other than these hot spring pools and we did hang out in that for just a bit. It even had a water slide!
We ate dinner at the restaurant on their grounds at 7 pm. It was a nice buffet and a good variety from some of the food we've been having at our own resort.
Made it back to our place for the first time driving in the dark. Bryan did a good job even though we swerved for a dog running along the side of the road! Darn pups!
